Bleaching Knots Guide
To help prevent excessive shedding, we recommend using a 20-volume developer when bleaching knots. This provides effective lift while minimizing damage to the hair. Apply the bleach mixture carefully, ensuring it is thick enough to sit on top of the knots without soaking through the lace.
Leave the bleach on for 10–20 minutes, checking every few minutes until the desired lift is achieved. Avoid leaving the bleach on for too long or using a stronger developer than necessary, as over-processing can weaken the knots, leading to shedding, breakage, and bald spots over time.
For best results, rinse thoroughly once the knots have lifted and consider using a knot sealer to help strengthen the lace and reduce shedding.
